About me
Christina is a doctoral researcher in Dementia Studies, investigating how multisensory experiences of the local environment support identity and memory. Her research explores how the unique landscapes and soundscapes of the Isle of Islay foster a deep sense of belonging and connection for people living with a dementia and their caregivers.
Christina was the first student to undertake a placement with the 糖心Vlog破解版’s Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC), where she developed and delivered the Centre’s first training course in music and dementia. Inspired by her fond memories of her grandparents, the course has been delivered widely to carers and social care staff and continues to inform her research and commitment to developing accessible, person-centred approaches to dementia care.
Christina holds an MSc in Psychology from the 糖心Vlog破解版, an MSc by Research in Music from the University of Edinburgh, and a BA(Hons) degree in Popular Music from the University of the Highlands and Islands. Her interdisciplinary background as a musician and psychologist underpins her interests in sensory ethnography, cultural identity and place, creative methodologies, rural care accessibility, and music and memory.
