Graduation tickets

Information about guest and graduand tickets for graduation ceremonies, including reception and live stream tickets

Ceremony tickets

Students who register to attend graduation will be entitled to one ticket to the ceremony and garden reception for themselves plus two free guest tickets.

When you register for graduation, you must tell us the number of guest tickets you require – zero, one or two. Please choose the correct number when you register, as you will not be able to change this after the deadline has passed.

Children aged two or over are required to have a ticket. The ceremony is 90 minutes long and may not be suitable for children under school age. We advise that you make alternative arrangements for small children. However, we understand that this is not always possible. If you have a guest under school age, your party may be asked to sit at the end of an aisle or near an exit so that the child can be taken outside should they become restless. We would appreciate your co-operation in this matter.

Additional guest tickets

During graduation registration, you will be asked if you are interested in purchasing additional tickets (should any spare tickets become available) and it is important that you confirm this information. Registering your interest to purchase additional guest tickets does not guarantee access to the sale of these tickets. There may be ceremonies with more demand than there are tickets available.

If additional tickets are available, you will be notified via email around four weeks before the date of the ceremony. Extra guest tickets will cost £25 per person.

Where a graduation ceremony has a very limited number of spare tickets these will be allocated by a random ballot to those who registered an interest in additional tickets. The system will randomly select and invite those successful in the ballot to purchase an additional guest ticket.

We cannot guarantee that you will be allocated any extra tickets, and we regret that we are not able to prioritise any extra ticket requests under any circumstances. We advise that you do not make travel or accommodation arrangements for your guests until such time as you have purchased guest tickets for them.

Loved ones can't join you on the day? Don't worry, they can still share this moment by watching the ceremony live.

Graduation Reception and Live Stream tickets

Celebrating your graduation with family and friends

If your guests are unable to secure seats in the main ceremony, they can still watch the live stream. We also offer Graduation Reception and Live Stream tickets. Your family and friends can experience the atmosphere of graduation and join the celebrations before and after the ceremony. Tickets for this option are strictly limited and offered on a first come, first served basis.

It is important to be aware that parking on campus is also limited on graduation days and we expect campus to be very busy. Guests should plan journeys in advance and may wish to consider alternative travel options where possible.

Graduation Reception and Live Stream Tickets cost £16.50 per person and include:

  • Live Stream of the ceremony on campus in a dedicated screening venue
  • a graduation programme
  • canapés and celebratory drinks at the post?ceremony reception

Each booking may include up to two free children’s tickets. At least one adult ticket must be purchased, and all children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Watching online

Anyone unable to attend in person will still be able to watch the ceremony online via the Live Stream
