Baseline for microbial influence in landfill heat extraction and storage prospects for Dunfermline and beyond (BioHEAT)

Collaboration with Fife Council, University of St Andrews and University of Strathclyde.

This is led by Neil Burnside and Vernon Phoenix, University of Strathclyde. Small scoping grant of ~5 K from Scottish Research Alliance for Energy, Homes and Livelihoods. Aims to investigate impacts of heat removal and storage in landfill. I would contribute expertise on microbiology, and do some metagenomics to help the proof of principle case. Project duration is ~ 6 weeks.
